Pastor Alfonso and his wife Cony pastor the Jesucristo es el Camino (Jesus Christ is the Way) Wesleyan Church in ManaguaAlfonso worked as an accountant for the government until the Lord called him to the ministry. loco” for leaving a good-paying, steady job to enterministry full time. He and his family have been faithfully serving as pastor(s) to this congregation. Last year he was appointed as Assistant District Superintendent and is the board adviser for the district youth. During the last 5 years, the church has grown from 20 members to around 60 in regular attendance. They have had to move several times and have lost members at each move. They outgrew the garage they were meeting in. After several months of unfruitful searching for a lot to purchase, they found one that is in a good location and at the right price.
The lot was purchased with assistance from the Partnership and gifts from Enid, OK given through our church planting project. The congregation has been raising funds for over the last year to go toward construction costs. They began work on the foundation in August and are excited about the possibility of growth and ministry in their community. If you would like to help, send your gift to GP project number: WM06-1255 Nicaragua Church Planting.
