MDIV update

Half way through the third year! Before the next semester starts later in January, I plan to take an additional intensive course on the incarnation of Christ. I am looking forward to this course; aside from a greater understanding of God becoming man, the topic speaks to many issues in Latin America. This will be my second of four required electives and will help me complete the onsite requirements for the program. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.  After the spring semester, I will only lack four courses to complete the program.

2011 has been an eventful year for the Eckhardt family which included relocating from Managua, Nicaragua to Marion, IN in June.

Jim has continued to recover from neck and hand surgery in May.  He also is continuing his studies at the Wesley Seminary at IWU while we are living in Marion, IN until July 2012.

Lizzie is half way through her senior year.  She will graduate with a degree in Biology.  She is applying to graduate schools, she is planning to study nutrition and health sciences and has been looking at programs that have an international component.

Matt graduated from NCA in Managua and is finishing his first semester at IWU majoring in biochemistry/premed. He is enjoying exploring science.   He's looking forward to finally driving his car--a 66 Mustang this coming year.

Julie enjoyed being an adjunct professor for the IWU nursing program at a local nursing home.  She enjoyed spending Christmas with her family in South Dakota. 

It has been a blessed year, God is faithful.

As we prepare to relocate to Colombia, we will be in need of funds to set up our home and office in Bogota and to purchase a vehicle.   Our goal is $6000 to add to the balance of the funds that we had from the sale of our vehicle and furniture in Nicaragua.
